The Most Expensive Hotels in Tokyo, Japan
The first hotel on my list of most expensive hotels in Tokyo is The Park Hyatt Hotel in Shinjuku. This hotel was made famous in Sofia Coppola's " Lost in Translation" starring Bill Murray and Scarlet Johansson. The movie was shot almost entirely at the Park Hyatt and surrounding areas. You could say this hotel is the "triple towers" of Japan and is one of the most iconic symbols of downtown Tokyo.
Standard room rates here start at around $500.00 a night per person, and can run upwards to a thousand dollars. The service here is legendary with 24 hour room service, concierge service, fax, and data ports. Fully stocked bar, pools, gyms, and massage therapy are all made available to all guest. Views are excellent. Although I have never stayed at this hotel, I have visited on many occasions for breakfast and to witness the solar eclipse.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel is managed by a foreigner who brings years of experience and dedication with him. The cheapest room here will cost you about $400.00 a night with everything included. The thing to remember about this particular hotel is the decor and furniture. At this hotel you can expect to see linen and bed sheets made by Rivolta Carmignani, a world renown interior decorator from Italy who specializes in high quality fabrics. The Mandarin Oriental combines all elements of East and West and prides itself on being unique in that it has successful merged these concepts.
The Imperial Hotel is really special because it caters to business executives, dignitaries, and luminaries. When it was first built the hotel was regarded as the Jewel of the Orient, and there was nothing like it anywhere in Asia. The entire 5th floor of this hotel has an executive center; the largest of its kind in Japan. There are several rental conference rooms replete with everything anyone would need to conduct full-scale meetings, conferences, and seminars. There's even a sound proof music room. Aside from being a wonderful hotel, it is also a museum. The whole hotel offers the visitor a glimpse into the past when East and West came together for the first time to make merriment over fancy drinks and exquisite meals.
Some notable guest who stayed at this hotel would be Babe Ruth, Marilyn Monroe, Joe DiMaggio, and so many more. This hotel is simply legend. At around $400.00 dollars a night you can expect to get a standard room with everything included. Standard room is not standard at all in reality.
So if you had to come to Tokyo and splurge on luxurious accommodations then I have just given you a very small list of some great hotels. You can rest assured that English is spoken, and maybe even a few more languages by the dedicated staff. You will be impressed and may consider moving to Japan after staying in one of these hotels.
